Noccela and Qorvo at CES 2024 in Las Vegas

Noccela is exhibiting with Qorvo at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, from 9 to 12 January 2024, on Qorvo’s booth 53509 at the Venetian Expo. Noccela’s hardware is built on Qorvo’s ultra-wideband (UWB) radio chips, and Noccela is a Qorvo UWB solution partner.

What is on show

Indoor navigation with smartphones. UWB turns a phone into a precise guide in complex indoor spaces. The demonstration builds on the UWB network for smartphones that Noccela deployed in Finland in November 2023: base stations (UWB anchors) send signals, and the phone calculates its own position.

Real-time asset tracking. The same base stations locate tagged assets in real time. Typical examples are warehouses that keep track of inventory and hospitals that need to find medical equipment quickly.

A second year with Qorvo at CES

This is Noccela’s second CES on the Qorvo booth. In January 2023, at the same venue, Noccela demonstrated its UWB real-time location system on Qorvo booth 51216.

The cooperation goes back further. Noccela was a guest on the Qorvo stand at Embedded World in Nuremberg in June 2022, and in July 2022 Qorvo published an article about how Noccela uses UWB in industry and sports.

Why it matters

CES brings together the companies that are putting UWB into phones, cars and consumer devices. For Noccela it is a place to show how the same radio technology serves both industrial positioning and consumer navigation.
